Ganesh Kumar Bangah is Commerce.Asia’s Founder and Executive Chairman. Ganesh is the Deputy Chairman of the PIKOM, National ICT Association of Malaysia and is the Chairman of E-Commerce Malaysia, a Chapter of PIKOM. He also serves as a member of PEMUDAH, a unit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia’s office entrusted to improve the global ranking of Malaysia in efficiency of doing business.
Prior to founding Commerce.Asia, Ganesh was Founder and Group CEO of MOL Global Inc. He built MOL from start-up till it became South East Asia’s first internet company to be listed on the NASDAQ. He is also a Director of MOL Ventures, an investment holding company that has made successful private investments in global social media and mobile internet companies such as Facebook, Friendster and Kakao.
Ganesh was certified by the Malaysia Book of Records as the youngest Chief Executive Officer of a public listed company of Malaysia in 2003; was the Ernst & Young Technology Entrepre-neur of the Year Malaysia in 2012. and Top Winner of the Prestige Top 40 Under 40 2012 Awards,. He has also won several other business awards including the JCI Creative Young En-trepreneur 2009 Award, Young Indian Entrepreneur 2009 Award and PIKOM Technopreneur Excellence Award 2009. He has been recognised as the 10 most inspiring Technopreneurs by Top 10 of Malaysia and as One of the 100 people you must know in Asia by Society Magazine.
Elena Tan joins Commerce.Asia as the General Manager, ensuring the successful delivery of one-stop solution & advisory for merchants to benefit from e-commerce & omnichannel commerce.
Prior to this, she was the Head of Ecommerce for Royal Selangor who was responsible for increasing monetisation opportunities of Royal Selangor’s ecommerce sales across B2B and B2C channels.
She brings over 12 years of experience in ecommerce, digital marketing and analytics. She is also a Google Certified Trainer who conducts training for the official Google Analytics course and Google AdWords course for Google Ignite.
Alice has been in the Business Incubation industry for more than 10 years since year 2006. She was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of MIRC Incubator Sdn Bhd in year 2008, then she moved on to setup MAD Incubator Sdn Bhd in year 2009 and was appointed as Chief Operating Officer and Director of the company.
Under her management, three (3) startup hubs have been setup at Sunway Mentari, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya respectively. She also being tasked to manage MSC Malaysia Technology Commercialisation Centre for 2 years. In year 2013, she was tasked to manage Bootstrap Accelerator Sdn Bhd – a joint venture between MAD Incubator Sdn Bhd and BootstrapLabs from the Silicon Valley.
Foo Kiat is currently a investment analyst for Commerce.Asia Ventures where he evaluates, oversees and monitors the investments from group level along with the Group Chairman.
Prior to joining Commerce.Asia Ventures, Foo Kiat was with CrowdPlus.asia, one of the 6 licensed Equity Crowd Funding platforms licensed by the Securities Commission of Malaysia. He was one of the pioneers of Equity Crowd Funding where he assisted to set up the CrowdPlus’s operation and outline the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). During his tenure at CrowdPlus, Foo Kiat was involved in the whole process of Equity Crowd Funding preparation, listing to closing and managed to complete 6 ECF fundraising exercise for SMEs within a year. Foo Kiat was a graduate of RMIT University.
